French investment bank Natixis has appointed Marc Mourre as senior adviser to expand its client relationships. He will work for both global markets commodities and global energy and commodities financing divisions to provide solutions to the financing and hedging needs of clients. Mourre will report to Simon Grenfell, head of global markets commodities, and Dominique Fraisse, global head of energy and commodities.
Mourre began his career in Hong Kong at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs as cultural attaché and then moved to Total in the international trading oil division where he spent over four years as a crude oil trader. In 1986, he joined Morgan Stanley to set up the London commodities trading office, moving to Singapore in 1990 to head the commodities trading and marketing operations until 1995 when he returned to London as global head of commodities marketing and business development.
Until January 2016, Mourre was managing director, vice chairman of the commodities division and chairman of the African business effort for Morgan Stanley. As the founder of Mourre & Co Ltd, an advisory firm specialising in the oil and gas industry, he is also chairman of the trustees of the Friends of the French Institute in London.
