Payment services provider (PSP) Nets Finland Oy and Finnish train network operator the VR Group signed a three-year service contract for a multi-channel payment solution, to provide electronic payment services plus improved customer service and customer experience, regardless of payment channel. The contract award follows a multi-stage tendering process. Nets’ payment solution for VR includes Europay, MasterCard and Visa/Payment Card Industry (EMV/PCI) approved payment terminal devices and software, a payment solution for remote transactions, mobile payment solutions, telephone sales, routing services for authorisations, risk management services and help desk services.
The service contract covers 350 payment terminal devices for on-train sales, 30 station sales devices, and 120 payment terminals for ticket machines. The new payment solutions will be implemented gradually. “The service we are providing is the first genuine solution to utilise different sales channels, in which all payments, regardless of payment channel, are processed on one single platform,” said Nets’ key account manager Riikka Ahlberg. “Customers will benefit from this through the option to cancel tickets purchased with a payment card via any VR sales channel.”
