Bill Gates and Citi’s Jamie Forese to Speak at Sibos 2014

SWIFT has announced the opening and closing plenary speakers for
Sibos 2014
, which will be held in the US city of Boston from 29 September to 2 October. Jamie Forese, co-president of Citi, and Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will open and close Sibos 2014 Boston respectively.

The financial messaging services provider added that Jamie Forese will give the Sibos opening plenary address on Monday, 29 September. Forese is a member of the Citigroup operating committee, and chief executive officer (CEO) of the institutional clients group, which encompasses the markets and securities services business, treasury and trade solutions business, and corporate and investment banking activities as well as the Citi Private Bank.

Traditionally, the Sibos opening address introduces some of the key issues faced by the financial services industry, and offers views on collaboratively tackling them, while setting the tone for the pivotal topics of the week.

Bill Gates will give the Sibos closing plenary address on Thursday, 2 October. He will provide his insights on the Foundation’s work to bring financial services to the poor, and highlight how digital financial services and partnerships can provide opportunities for financial institutions to sustainably serve people in the developing world.
