O2 has appointed Mark Evans as chief financial officer (CFO) of Telefonica UK. Evans will serve on the Telefonica UK board and report to Ronan Dunne, chief executive officer (CEO) of Telefonica UK.
Evans joins Telefonica with over 15 years of senior finance experience, having held a variety of board level and management positions in the communications industry. He starts his new role following 10 years at Vodafone where he held positions as CFO in the UK, Ireland, and most recently in its global technology business. Prior to Vodafone, Evans was group financial controller at Virgin Media, formerly NTL, where he started in 1994.
The role has been held by acting CFO Adam Castleton, following Ramon Ros’ move to Telefonica in Spain.
